Great Product
March 15, 2014
I purchased the Miller LPR-100 Half Mask to use as a dust respirator while working in my woodworking shop. I tend to be asthmatic and the Miller mask allows me to breath easily. It is far superior to the traditional dust masks available at hardware stores.. It's also is easy to put on and it fits comfortably. Great product!

Awesome Product

Filters are long lasting, very comfortable fit. I forget this thing is even on my face and it fits extremely well underneath your welding hood. Impressive. Recommend this respirator to anyone who needs a filter for poor ventilated welding circumstances.

worth the couple dollars of cost
March 8, 2014
This mask is definitely worth the money and I am completely satisfied. It has tight but comfortable fit. It is not laboring to breathe and is fairly compact. The check valve placement for inlets is perfect, as soon as you take a breath you feel the cool fresh air. Unlike other masks that feel like you have to take a deep breath to get that fresh air into the mask. It fits well under my welding helmet as well. What truly amazed me, was that I have a full beard, and the mask seals very well over top of it. It passes a pressure test and you feel the mask shrink in on a inhale, further backing up of the pressure test. Having a clean nose and easy breathing at night, makes me wonder why I didn't start wearing a mask many years ago. I'm curious to see how long I will get out of a filter set. going on a couple weeks now. This will depend greatly on conditions of course, but I did purchase two replacement sets with the mask. Which I would recommend.
Pros
  • cost and replacement filter cost is very reasonable, overall design and fitment.
Cons
  • I figure that the straps, like any typical stretch strap, will lose it's stretch well before the mask wears out.

works well with glasses
February 3, 2014
I was concerned that this respirator would not work well with glasses but that has not been the case. The unit is small and lightweight with a very soft rubber seal that fits tight yet is comfortable. I have had no fogging of my glasses due to a poor seal. I recommend the unit highly.

January 19, 2014
Very nice feel to it fits my face very well it could be a little lower profile as it comes very close to the lens on my halo x helmet. I am worried that in the cold it will steam up my hood but time will tell.
Pros
  • Good fit

Cons
  • Tight fit under halo x helmet

I've used a few respirators and this is the best by far. It's comfortable, excellent air flow and I don't smell metal when grinding and no fumes when welding. Get this, your lungs will thank you.

Great for grinding but a hassle for welding
November 9, 2013
I really liked this respirator because it is very small and easy to put on. The only downside to it, for me, is when I use it for welding, it fogs up my safety glasses underneath my helmt because my exhales come out the front of the mask and go up to my glasses. Other than that it's great for grinding cause i can fit my face shield over and it's easy to carry around.

Great welding mask
September 3, 2013
After two weeks of use the mask still is living up to expectations and my breathing after work has become less labored and cleaner. The mask fits under a miller digital elite hood with a second gen headgear good. My only complaint if you could consider it a true complaint is that it is not large enough to provide an full 10 hour comfort with out rests to cool the face and relax from the constrains of it

Great little respirator
July 29, 2013
Love this little guy. Actually does fit under a normal sized mask. Welded Al all day today and barely smelled it. No noticeable increase in breathing fatigue.
Pros
  • Fits under mask, low re-breathe volume.
Cons
  • Very minimal con: intake valve flaps brush against my lips a little on inhale.

Comfortable, does not fit under helmet
July 21, 2013
I have the common 4x5 passive jackson helmet with upgraded headgear. Adjusted on the notch that sits it furthest from the face the exhaust still contacts the helmet, making for a bearable, still functional but highly annoying bump when I flip down. Aside it is very comfortable with neutral smell. Still doesn't do what a bought it for, 2 stars.

best respirator used thus far
April 17, 2013
been a welder for at least ten years and tried an assortment of respirators including the 3M sold here, North Safety's CFR-1, as well as various other particulate reusable welding respirators and the Miller LPR-100 has by far, proved to be my favorite.
Pros
  • compact and comfortable
  • does what it's supposed to
  • easy to breath with and can be worn for prolonged periods
  • filter made of paper instead of some synthetic fiber-glass material like most others
Cons
  • filters a little on the expensive side, I change mine once a month, but I'm worth it.

Miller LPR-100 respirator review
April 8, 2013
The respirator is of good quality and does an adequate job of filtering particles etc. However, it will not fit under my Jackson Balder BH3 Auto Darkening Welding Helmet. I also have the 3m respirator and that one fits my face better and is a bit more comfortable. If you are buying a respirator to use under a welding mask, make sure the mask and respirator are compatible.

Good respirator
April 1, 2013
Good respirator for the price.
Pros
  • I don't sweat inside & has an excellent exhale breather. For the price I think its worth the little bit I spent for a decent respirator.
Cons
  • I'm lucky I have an adjustable headgear to push out the helmet to fit under my hood. Feel sorry for those that don't. But I do feel the breather in the front is just a bit to much. It still hits my helmet & its adjusted all the way out. I own a Speedglas 9100 series which has ventilation slots but not all welding helmets have them. I have a co-worker who owns a Miller Elite & it fogs up his lens while breathing out which is really gonna suck since summers bout to come soon. Might have to do more looking for one thats a little less bulk for the same price.

Fanatstic respirator for a great price
March 1, 2013
I purchased this to use strictly for welding but as soon as I tried it on I realized it was the most comfortable respirator I have used to date and have used it a whole lot more then just for welding. Great price, fits, and feels great, you can't go wrong with it.
Pros
  • Fit
  • Ease of breathing with it
  • Comfortable
  • Affordable
Cons
  • Didn't buy it sooner
  • $10 refills are a little steep but I don't know how long they will last for sure so might not be so bad.

Great for TIG and Gas Brazing
February 28, 2013

Bought for my allergies...not for welding...but it worked flawlessly!!!
December 29, 2012
I have real bad allergic reactions to perfumes/colognes and am therefore not able to go out in public...I tried the respirator out at our local big box store during the afternoon rush right before christmas and was able to shop for 1 hour before i started having a reaction...i even spent 5 minutes over by the scented candles, grabbing the candles and waving them around the mask...no smell and no reaction...i think i could have made it further if i didn't have my winter beard fully grown-in...i think i had a seal leak from the beard by the time i made it to the detergent aisle...so if you are using this thing to stop metal fumes you really want a good seal around your mouth/nose...i would recommend a cleanly shaven face...I highly reccommend this product...though it made me a little winded walking with it, but i'm asthmatic and that was to be expected also...overall a great, light weight product!!! 73 Rich
Pros
  • light weight, affordable, works, comfortable
Cons
  • was winded after walking while using, but it's not a powered respirator, and it draws air more easily than most military gas masks...i may have to shave my beard, unless i figure something else out...

Miller LPR-100 Half Respirator
December 7, 2012
I've been using this respirator for 2 weeks now. Fits under the 9100 helmet although it's close to the lens with the head gear adjusted all the way back. Up until now I have been using the 3m 6300 respirator so this review is compared to this respirator. Overall I would rate the Miller about the same as the 3m for my welding application. My personal preferences are listed below.
Pros
  • Feels smaller on the face. Seems to exhale a little easier than thew 3m. Easy to get on and off.
Cons
  • A little too small for my face although seems to seal ok. I like the head gear placement on the 3m better. After 2 hours of wearing I find there is more pressure on the bridge of my nose. The silicone seems to be a little harder.

works well
November 28, 2012
I bought this to use under my miller digital elite helmet, it fits perfectly under the hood and is easier to breath through than the 3M, but you will need to order lots of filters for it because they don't seem to last as long as the 3M filters, depending on what I am doing I have gone through a set of filters in a day but have been averaging about 2-3 days of grinding, gouging, and welding with dual shield wire.
Pros
  • light weight
  • comfortable
  • easy to breath through
Cons
  • filter life

lightweight
November 26, 2012
This mask is much better than the disposable dust mask. It is lightweight, fits well, exhausts well (I don't feel like I'm re-breathing the same air over and over), and has a replaceable filter.
Pros
  • lightweight
  • fits well
  • replaceable filters
  • well made

Respirator
November 24, 2012
I've wore respirators for years , this is the best one that I have ever worn. It keep's all of the smoke& particle's out of your LUNGS. This is the first time in my life that I have not tasted Steel, I have been welding for 24 Year's. I would personally reccomend this to any one that weld's. It will save your LUNG'S& your LIFE too. I have a Lung Injury from a past employer, so since I started wearing this I have dramatically noticed that my Lungs don't hurt or even come close to the I was getting before the Respirator.
Pros
  • tight fitting Respirator, very comfortable, it is made of the highest quality&material. I wear it all day at work.
Cons
  • I do not have any dislike's about the Respirator.

Mask respirator fits under welding helmet although it's a tight fit. There are no issues with welding though. Like the 100 rated filter. Most masks sold with the 95 filters, so this is great. Comfortable - soft rubber mask.

Excellent for wearing under a welding helmet.
October 2, 2012
I bought this respirator to wear under my welding helmet. I don't need a respirator often enough to justify buying a powered air purifying system, so this was a good option. This respirator is very comfortable. The low profile fits beneath all of my helmets.
Pros
  • Comfortable
  • Lightweight

Needs some R&D
August 10, 2012
As always, Miller provided a great product. Its strong in construction, durable, and works as advertised... kinda. I have a miller 7300 with the Gen. II headgear, it uses Miller's standard mask-body, and with this half mask its about one inch away from being able to close. If you look closely at the image, there is a little piece of plastic covering the exhalation valve; its about a quarter inch too long. It won't let the mask drop all the way. I'm very disappointed with Miller for launching a product that won't fully work with their own masks, but I can't rip Miller entirely; it is a great mask and it filters galvanized, and nasty smelling fumes. I weld a lot of aluminum and now I can go home with no head aches or nausea.

Merchant Response:The Miller Generation II headgear has a forward and back adjustment which should allow you to move your helmet forward, leaving plenty of room for the respirator.
Pros
  • Its great quality as always expected with Miller products, filters well, comfortable.
Cons
  • I'm very disappointed with Miller for launching something that doesn't work with their own masks.
