I first have to say that this is a decent hood, for bench welds. When welding in position and in tight spaces this hood is way too big and not very flexible. Along with having to special order clear lenses at the local weld supply shop because they don't readily have them in stock. If you are in fabrication or strictly a bench welder then this hood would be great.

This is my 2nd Speedglas helmet and I love it.First helmet lasted 10 years before I accidentally lost it at a job. Lightweight, durable, plenty of shade choices.

My first is still in service, but this one is even faster, the variable shade is a plus. The have also improved the headgear, more adjustment and comfort.

I love the weight of the speedglas 9100 series and the true color shade technology it has to offer. One thing I wasn't aware of when ordering is that there's 3 models of 9100 series consisting of different lens sizes. 9100v being smallest and 9100xx being the largest.

I've used this helmet for roughly 6 months on the job. I do production MIG running 300 amps plus. TIG repairs when needed. Helmet works as intended. My only complaint is sometimes the neck gets burnt but that may be because I forgot to adjust the helmet. The helmet stays up and is easy to nod down - one of my biggest pet peeves. Also the helmet is very light. I go home pain free at the end of a 9-10 hour shift. The helmet sits very comfortable on the head. I have to crawl inside booms for internal welds and the helmet still sits perfect for good display of the puddle. Flexible so if you need to squeeze your head in a tight spot, you can. Very good sensitivity when TIG welding. Easy to taper off without being blinded. I just received the regular 100V model free and I can tell you that the 9100v is 10x better. Better screen display, more comfortable while wearing, better adjustability and better settings. I think the 100 only has 3 settings for delay and sensitivity while the 9100v has 5 for delay and sensitivity. Only complaint is the grind settings. I would love to try other helmets but I really have no need to because this helmet does what I need it to do.

This being my first auto darkening helmet I can't compare to others but I can say that for the price you are getting a lot of helmet. For starters the viewing area looks small but it's decently sized and you have the option to move the helmet closer to your face which makes the window seem bigger. Also the headgear has a lot of adjust ability and is so comfortable you hardly notice it's there and does not come loose or want to slip off. The side windows work great and come with covers if you don't like the distractions. Overall I'm beyond please with my purchase of this helmet. Worth every penny.

I was a bit apprehensive about making this purchase, but after using it I am blown away. I am already planning to purchase one of the other models in the line, maybe a 9100 X or the 9100 XX.

I would have to say this is one of the best welding helmet that I have ever purchased. I like the head band because it relieves the stress on my neck. Very light weight and you can't beat the view inside helmet when you are welding. I am my other welding helmet because with this one there is no need for any other. Should have done this long time ago but that is just me.

This is the second one I've owned, it's a great hood.

The helmet is great. It's light weight, comfortable, and the lens is the perfect size. Fast shipping too.

Typical speed glass quality, I really like the added peripheral vision on the sides of the hood. I hope the new hood holds up like the last one. It is a little wider than the older model but still very nice.

The helmet comes with additional plastic shield items, so when one gets scratched you can swap them out. It also comes with a bag, DVD video, spare head cushion, and bandanna to cover your head. I was impressed with all these added perks that came with it. I also went from a Harbor freight helmet to this. The response time on this one is much faster. I have not used it much yet, but it is awesome so far.

This is my first personal use welding hood. I've tried out quite a few from multiple shops I've worked in, but by far the speedglas out-does them all. Super light weight, incredible lens, and tons of adjust-ability make this cream of the crop for the money. Factor in the electro - magnetic sensor and you cant get a better hood. Cyberweld has the best prices and fastest shipping on the web, i did alot of shopping before plopping down the cash. Also, if you want the cool factor, you can get tons of decal kits for it!

This helmet is really nice comes with lots of extras fits well and it is light. the 9100 is what you need if you are a pro or just a weekend welder the price is justified for the product. nothing but smiles here!!!

Like the range of shades, hope this one lasts longer than the Miller auto dark that barely outlasted the warranty.

Replaced my miller digital elite with this helmet,comfortable and lite. Nice clear filter seem good all around so far. I didn't need the big viewing area since I use a magnifier lens. Personally I like it better than the miller.

WELL WORTH THE DEAL ON IT (and this is the best deal I found) Thank you Cyber Weld and Thank you 3M for designing the 9100! This hood is by far the lightest weight hood I have worn and there is also a built -in ventilation feature. Hands down, the 9100 has the most comfortable head straps to wear all day. The straps contour the skull better than any I have ever worn. I welded for a company in Wisconsin that uses the 9100 and it was very hard to let go of when I left. I am so grateful to be getting my own. Don't get me wrong people, there are some great hoods out there. The one I have now is a Lincoln hood, it would be great except it is heavier and the head strap literally gives me headaches. When you have to be productive for 10 hours a day with a hood on... GET THIS ONE!! It wont wreck your day! Peace.

Excellent Hood. I never thought the cutting / grinding mode would be helpful but it is really nice. The headgear is exceptional. Fits like a champ. I wish I'd bought the larger viewing window. The salesman "Gino" was a jerk to deal with. I certainly didn't enjoy that part. Otherwise good helmet and good delivery.

I'm a full time welder. Mig tig stick and a lot of fluxcore. This hood has plenty of options for what ever you need!

Works great, love the settings, light weight, fits really well. Had an issue with it darkening before arc was struck which turned out to be a manufacturing glitch. Recieved replacement lense in 3 days so long story short, 3M has great customer service!

Bought this hood to replace my Jackson Safety Passive #8 The side view lens is a nice feature but useless in my opinion. If your looking for a great active shade hood you cant get a better one.

Totally blows me away with the quailty. I have always bought cheap helmets and within no time the lens quit working--this keeps on ticking--

Best helmet for the money.

Overall, I'd say I really like this product, if it weren't for a few bothersome quirks. I like the shade 5 side shields and the ability to lock in any shade, and the light weight of this hood. The headband is the most comfortable my head has ever touched, making difficult position welds a lot less grueling. I'm very disappointed, however, by the lack of longevity of the clear shields, both inside and out, and i hate how there's no gasket between the outside clear shield and the expensive filter lens, which causes weld smoke and the grit carried with it to settle on the filter lens and the arc sensors. With how easily the clear lenses scratch I'm hesitant to even attempt to clean the fancy lens. I've been using this hood for maybe 6 months, owned it for a year, and the silver part doesn't fit well enough anymore to keep sparks out when welding overhead, the little ones often get through and land on my chin. Had I known of these issues, especially the gasket issue, I definitely would not have purchased a Speedglas.

I have owned a speedglas welding helmet for years and just purchased the 9100v for my son who is entering the trade. . .how much different is the trade with the auto darkening helmet. . .The price of the 9100v is the best for your buck

I have used a 9000 series for a number of years and decided to try this 9100 helmet and found it be better and actually cheaper than my old helment. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good all around helment.

This a very well designed, well made helmet. Complicated , very adjustable head gear, that is ultimately very comfortable. I got the version with the smallest lense and I'm perfectly happy with the field of view. I don't understand why anyone would pay more for the two larger lense options. This vender had the best price, and delivered promptly

The only issue is that this helmet requires that you actually push the "ON" button before use. I've had previous auto-darkening that would darken automatically w/o the need to turn them "ON" before starting the day. I've "flashed" myself in the beginning of the day many times. Buy extra batteries... I think the ones that come with the helmet aren't up-to-par w/ the replacement ones. Also, the big grey faceplate is excellent for drawing a mouth on. funny stuff.

Bought one for my son to go to tulsa welding school and he loved it so i bought me one because I knew they were nice helmets. Outside protective plates and inside plates werent with it but I called and there getting shipped. Every thing was taken care of nice and quickly. Thanks
