Good but!
May 17, 2021
Works well but I bought 10 pounds of Hobart 7018 5/32" rods and since they come in a plastic container that is only sealed with tape I wanted to put all 10 pounds into this oven to keep them dry but even after shaking the rods and trying to squeeze as many in as I could there were a small hand full, maybe a dozen or so rods that did not fit and since I wasn't planning on using them right away they will go back into the unsealed container to absorb moisture and likely used to set the welder as practice rods. Maybe it will fit 10 lbs of other types of rods but it should be made to hold 10 LBS of just about any rod on the market.
Pros
  • Heating wise works as should.
Cons
  • Does not hold a full 10 LBS of some types of rods.

This is just what you need to keep your rods dry. I don't use a lot of 7018 but when I do I want it to be right.
Pros
  • Compact and convenient.

The advantage of this rod oven over Lincoln and other ovens is that it is dual voltage. You can plug it into 110 or 220 volt sources without worrying about damaging the oven or having to remember to throw a switch. It holds heat will and will keep rods dry and warm for several hours.
Pros
  • Dual voltage. Heat retention.
Cons
  • Nothing yet.
