March 16, 2017
Going from my Miller Classic to this Miller Digital Elite is like day and night. The Elite is extremely light, comfortable and have a great clear and big viewing area. I've tried other helmets that weren't Miller's, but I find the Digital Elite series to be the best good money can buy.
Pros
  • Light, comfy head gear, cool graphics, big viewing area
Cons
  • The only con I have which is not a huge deal, the warning label says the helmet is not made for overhead welding. I use it for overhead anyway but I don't know why it says that.

I like the hood overall but the lens is slow to darken stays dark "no mater what the sens is set at" I have to turn it off and turn it on again for the money I paid I expected better from miller 20+ year vet welder love miller equipment but not these hoods they missed there mark. I clean my equipment daily no damage no drop on the floor ect. customer service at miller is good that is a plus and a must if you are me .

February 4, 2016
Very clear lenses and it comes with many replacement ones too... Great price too, my uncle bought one of these a few years ago and that was for $400 so this is a great deal. The digital infinity seems better and at only $30 more I might have gone with that instead, but knowing how good the digital elite is I decided to go with that.

Good hood
September 6, 2015
I use this hood for pipe welding, mainly TIG but some stick. The lens functions are simple and the view is clean and clear. I have to use this hood with the hardhat adaptor so I can't judge the original headgear. But with the adaptor it is a heavy hood and sits far out in front of me. Otherwise I like the large screen and the ease of switching to grind mode without having to switch hoods.
Pros
  • Large viewing lens
Cons
  • Heavy

Other helmets don't compare!
May 8, 2015
I've been welding for 6 years. This helmet replaced my Lincoln Viking helmet ( Foose edition Hemishere). While i liked that lincoln helmet the lens broke and I decided to try the miller digital elite. This helmet is superior by far. The controls are intuitive and very easy to operate. The head gear is very comfortable and does a better job of staying in place. I was very impressed with the lens clarity, it was like using old school traditional welding glass in terms of clarity and color. In contrast the lincoln helmet that broke had a greenish yellowish color to the view when looking through the lens, it was almost like i was looking through a heinekin bottle. I highly recommend the digital elite line of helmets.

Awesome comfort and great clarity
January 21, 2015
I've tried on a dozen helmets in the past couple of months and the Digital Elite was by far the best. After setting it to your personal preferences, the headgear is amazing. Wish they made the same headgear for a hardhat! I've never been able to see my welds this well with other hoods. Definitely worth the price.
Pros
  • Headgear can be adjusted in about every direction. Great clarity! Graphics looks awesome.
Cons
  • A little more light coming in at my neck than with previous hoods. I'll be investing in a welding helmet bib.

Love this Helmet
January 15, 2015
I am just a hobby welder, but I love this helmet. It is the first "GOOD" helmet I have ever owned, so I don't have much to compare it to, but I really like it.
Pros
  • Very clear and I like all the different modes. I tried them all out, probably won't use it for anything except welding, but the other modes do work well.
Cons
  • Won't stay up when you lift it up.

great hood
January 10, 2015
My last auto hood was about 10 years old. The technology has gotten a lot better since then. I am very pleased with the hood. Plenty of viewing area. The 4 sensors are important for me as a lot of welds I come across can be position welds with obstructions.I like the styling and coverage of the hood. it protects my ears and neck better than my old hood. I did some searching online and didn't see any other prices close to cyberwelds. Good quick delivery also a plus. one minor thing, I wish they had more styles available. I saw a digital elite somewhere else I really liked but for a whole lot more $$$. Over all i'm very happy with the roadster.

Fast lens x mode is perfect...
January 5, 2015
Great fitting helmet takes a little time to get it adjust so when you push it all the way back the helmet locks in place. Great lens to eye discomfort after 3 hours of straight use. Helmets lets cool are in no fog lens. Adjustments work great. I use 9 to 10 for most of my welding depends on amperage and eye comfort. Grind mode helps by having you press a button while shill on head and grind red light blinks to warn you your in grind mode. Have use this torch or torch cutting I adjusted it to shade 5 works great for me. XMODE works great tried it out while I was welding exhaust pipe under a car on the lift never got flash seems to darken before arc is struck.. before that got flash in weld mode. Also press the less button and hold in weld mode for automatic sensitivity adjust ment that takes away guess work the lens will turn dark and count form 8 till 12 .and that's it sensitivity found you can always move it up or Dafoe over all great product...
Pros
  • XMODE. . Auto adjusting sensitivity press and hold less while in weld mode only
Cons
  • Helmets want stay up some times

good value, great performance
November 12, 2014
Purchased this hood during Miller's 70.00 rebate deal. Awesome deal for a great helmet. Read all of the reviews prior to purchase, so I was expecting to have some issues with the hood staying up, and the performance being lack luster. I did not experience either issue. This helmet is great. Easy to use with huge viewable area, and probably the nicest helmet I've ever had. There is a click above the full lift that keeps the helmet up until a shake of the head gets the hood to drop. Living in AZ, welding in the sun is sometimes a task. Other helmets are darkened before you even get to welding. The X mode, allows me to see my weld area even in the sun. Love it.
Pros
  • New head gear is comfy
  • Lift locking is convenient
  • X mode
  • 70.00 rebate
  • Extras that it came with
Cons
  • Want to put it in the bag that it came with, after every use

November 8, 2014
This helmet has single handedly changed my outlook on welding. My first auto darkening hood was a Kobalt from the "L" big box store. Going from that to this is like night and day. I always struggled to see my puddle but now the view is huge and the quality of optics is outstanding. The headgear is very adjustable and sometimes I hit the edge of my bench when I bend over because I forgot I was wearing it. This helmet goes in the house at night just in case the garage gets broken into. You can take my Jeep, just don't take my digital elite!
Pros
  • Lightweight, huge viewing area, 4 sensors and X mode, excellent headgear, flexible and very adjustable.
Cons
  • None

I have had three of these helmets in the mining industry. I spent a lot of time outside in the field in the elements and have never had an issue. They are extremely weather resistant and do take a beating. Best hood in my opinion.

Excellent function and form w/Miller Digital Elite
April 25, 2014
I'm a heavy hobby - to light pro level fabricator and recently spent about 20 hours working with my recently purchased Miller Digital Elite. I am very pleased with the performance of the Miller Digital Elite and think it's a great buy, even better so than the Jackson NexGen EQC that have been using regularly since 2008. Apples to apples, the performance of the Miller and Jackson's auto darkening lenses are very similar. The view through the Miller lens is slightly sharper and is easier to adjust wearing heavy gloves but both work great. Comparatively so, I prefer the Miller's head gear and you can instantly feel how much lighter the Miller shell is compared to the Jackson. On the other hand, the Jackson mask protects the user from light slighly better than the Miller. Either way you can't go wrong but if I were to do it all over again, I would buy another Miller Digital Elite.

Vintage Roadster Digital Elite
December 17, 2013
I bought this helmet since I grew up in Appleton and have relatives working there. I figured I would show some hometown pride. After using the same Jackson helmet for the last 15 years, with and without auto darkening lenses, I can say that I have two of the three benchmark helmets. I haven't used a speedglass other than to test it out. I love my Jackson and knew it would be hard to replace. Very simple and sturdy construction. Maybe a bit heavy, but reliable. After too many drops and knocks, my auto dark lens started to fail. Got my new roadster in 3 days. Impressive. Took her out of the box, and started to get her adjusted to where I thought it would be comfortable. The lens and viewing area is great. Very clear and yellow/orange, not the dark green I have been accustomed to. Took the roadster to work on Monday and let the co workers drool a bit....Started doing my work and this is where I started to find numerous shortcomings. 1. The new headgear is not very practical, borderline junk. I have a very large oval/egg shaped head and I have both top straps almost all the way tight. I have the rear sinched up so I can just take the helmet on and off without adjusting the knob and the forehead strap will not hug my forehead and fits quite loose. I can almost fit a finger between the band and my forehead at the corners. 2. The fore/aft adjustment is a really nice touch, but again, there are problems. I cannot find the happy medium where I am comfortable. Either the lens is too close and my nose rubs it, getting grease/sweat on it creating a smudge; or its too far forward and the tail of the helmet rubs the crown of my head and I feel may cause a bald spot over time. 3. The rear of the headgear where the sinch dial is located almost forces you to use two hands to put the helmet on since the part springs up when not on your head. If you take your helmet on and off a lot during the day, this can become a nuisance. 4. The lens creates an artificial 'Blind Spot' at some angles over one eye. I found that if I am leaning over the top of a piece and doing a vertical weld, the opposite eye will have a dark spot in the lens obstructing view. You can actually see a darker portion near the center of the lens viewing area. 5. The front cover plate. I was very worried about having a curved cover plate on the front. And my suspicions were confirmed 5 hours into THE FIRST DAY! I set my helmet down on the front like I always do with my Jackson (which has a flat front); picked the helmet up and put a HUGE scratch on the cover plate. Not happy about that at all. 6. The helmets' finish is very slick, with or without gloves, inside and out. I have accidentally dropped the helmet twice already. I hope the roadster can stand up to that kind of abuse. I am beginning to think I may have made a $265 mistake. I really don't want to buy the replacement headgear to make things right. When I am welding, I do absolutely love the lens. The Miller lens has got to be one of the best on the market (aside from the dark spot). The view is phenomenal and crystal clear, even when not welding. Like wearing sunglasses. The lens darkens superfast, like Lamborghini shifting fast. I like the delay for the return to normal also. Great thinking. I'm still playing with the settings and haven't really found anything bad there. The graphics are really well done to. The helmet is not stickered, it's painted or sublimated into the plastic.
Cons
  • I don't know if I can honestly recommend this, but I am going to mark yes based on the auto lens.

  • Durable
  • Awesome graphics (looks even better in person)
  • Easy to change screen and 3 year warranty
Cons
