Nice welder for someone looking to step up.
July 22, 2012
I got this to do low volume production of an outdoor cooking system we are manufacturing. I've been welding with a Harbor Freight for about a year. Thought I was a terrible welder, and would just have to live with not having the time to really learn. Turns out I might be more like an OK welder (at least a step up). It appears to be equipment related, because the operator is the same. Quite a bit more expensive than the HS, but this welder made a significant difference.

Excellent MIG Welder
July 22, 2012
Been using the Millermatic 211 for about a year now, and its performance has been excellent for what I do (enthusiast). I have used it for many hours with sheet metal, tube steel and plate and it has worked very reliably making very nice welds, particularly considering I have had no training other than what I have read. Speaking of which, the "dial a weld" feature is very handy for us novices, but I do find that dialing it back a bit on power does make for a better weld. Overall the quality, build and performance of the machine has been great.

KICKIN! Buy it. No regrets.
July 22, 2012
The 211 is the fourth MIG I've used and the second I've owned personally. Although it's not quite as powerful as the big Lincolns (size of a child's coffin!) it is more dependable! Just for testing, I ran some perfect beads on 1/2" thick steel scrap I had around - although I had to take it slow and easy, the welds came out well-fused, and good looking. Of course, this was on 240 volts, with a nice short line back to the power entry panel; no welder I know of could do that on only 110VAC. But the fact that I can use the same machine in the field, just at lower power, well, it's a good trick to have up your sleeve. If mine got stolen, I'd just buy another.
Pros
  • It. Works. Perfectly. I would change nothing.
Cons
  • It's heavy. It's not inverter-based, so you are carrying
  • around a full-sized transformer.

Technology makes it easy for newbie
July 22, 2012
I was a novice welder at best, but the Millermatic 211 made learning the craft of MIG welding easy. The autoset feature and flexibility of 2 different voltages were very helpful. My only complaint is the design of the mechanism for sealing the shielding gas inside the welder could be better. It sometimes pulls away and allows shielding gas to escape inside the machine before it ever makes it to the nozzle.

runs great, no .045 drive roll
July 11, 2012
this machine runs great. I was disappointed that it didn't come with the .045 knurled drive roll, but other than that, I'm very happy with it. Compared with other multi voltage mig machines on the market, this one wins in both the power and component quality categories. The hobart handler 210's voltage knob is limited to certain voltages whereas this has an infinitely adjustable voltage knob.
Pros
  • best power:portability ratio on the market
  • knobs are highest quality made in this class of welder
  • Infinitely adjustable knobs
  • miller makes the best spool gun for this class of
  • welder (lincoln's uses plastic drive gears)
Cons
  • did not come with a knurled drive roll.

Millermatic 211 from cyberweld
April 19, 2012
The machine works perfectly so far. The service and shipment from cyberweld was extremely fast and professional. I was worried about the shipping and handling of the welder getting to my house and besides the delivery man pouting about having to lift the box from his truck to the door, the machine was in perfect condition and no issues with the box looking like it had been dropped or mishandled. Great product, great service! Cyberweld will get my business again!
Pros
  • Cheapest prices anywhere.
  • Shipping was incredibly fast.
  • Zero hassles with payment.

Great Tool!
April 2, 2012
Very easy setup and great results every time I've used this. If you might have a need to weld aluminum sometime in the future I recommend buying the spoolmate gun as well... it works great with this welder (although GMAW welding aluminum takes some practice).
Pros
  • Pretty much everything
Cons
  • no cons

Great Machine!
March 11, 2012
This is my first welder purchase, couldnt be happier, great machine. Lays great beads although i have only used it with the 120v. Shipped really quick to Florida, only about four days. Used mostly for hobby and repair work but i love it. Haven't tried autoset yet but will shortly
Pros
  • MVP is perfect for home or shop use
  • Smith regulator is nice, although if you are using CO2 you need to get a designated co2 reg. Short protection feature is pretty awesome when you are using self shielding wire with out the gas nozzle
Cons
  • Wish it came with the knurled fcaw drive roll but 20$ from airgas wasnt bad.

Millermatic 211 auto-set MVP
March 10, 2012
Set up was very easy. Auto-set feature works well, most of the time. Very powerful welder for it's size. Quality machine, well built, as always. I am totally HAPPY!
Pros
  • Size, Power, Quality.
  • Welds beautifully.
Cons
  • Ground clamp is whimpy.
  • M-100 gun has limited reach.
  • Why not 15 feet?
  • Will not run 30-A spoolgun

230v IS 220v as well as 240v
March 7, 2012
To the person that stated the 230v as a Con: 220v, 230v & 240v are all the same thing- it is nominal voltage Same thing fro 110v,115v, 120v. the Receptacle may not match the 6-50 Plug that comes with the MM211 but that can be changed in the wall. the 230v 6-50 Plug that comes with the MM211 is the standard type of plug for just about every welder supplied with a Power cord from the factory.
Pros
  • Everything
Cons
  • Nothing

Awesome machine!
March 5, 2012
I bought this machine to upgrade from a 130amp machine, so I could use thicker material in my artwork. I liked that it could switch between voltage inputs, but I misunderstood 230V to be 220V, which is what I have in my shop, so I can't use the 230V option (230V seems not common for home use, I'm not sure why they didn't make it 220V). However, using 110V it has plenty of power, I can weld 1/4" material no problem. It's very easy to use with the auto-set function, my welds have improved alot just by using this machine.
Pros
  • Auto-set is easy to use
  • Plenty of power
Cons
  • 230V plug instead of more common 220V
