MM211
July 22, 2015
So far the millermatic 211 has performed as I expect a Miller mig welder to perform . I have a mm130 that I used for bodywork and it's 19years old and going strong still . I plan on building a trailer with the MM211 .
Pros
  • the ability to run 110v or 220v
Cons
  • none

A great balance of power and portability
July 8, 2015
I weld almost everyday, but my shop setup is "rustic". From the beginning, I've needed a welder setup that would work in (and roll) a gravel floor environment. I started out with a Hobart Handler 190, and moved up to a Hobart 210 MVP for the dual voltage. Both welders worked flawlessly, and I have nothing but praise for Hobart. But, I wanted to move up to a bigger welder, and had my sights set on the Ironman 230. As I mulled over my options, I kept coming back to the point of portability- a cabinet welder was going to be too big and heavy for how I used one. I would have to build an offroad subframe for it so that I could use air tires for rolling (which is what I had done for the two Hobarts- I built an offroad welding cart with 10" tires) and I would still be moving around a 200 pound welder. Then, I saw the Miller 211MVP- the same basic machine as the Hobart 210- on sale at Cyberweld. From reviews, it seemed that it was a little hotter than the Hobart, and although it wasn't a 250 amp machine, it would do what I needed (like the Hobart had). The advantages over the Hobart were infinite voltage, autoset (which I don't prefer- I would rather fine-tune the setting, and know my welder), a hotter arc (which it has- the Hobart 210 MVP has a softer arc), and in my case, Miller was offering a free spoolgun with purchase. So, I figured I could get into the Miller for about the same price as the Hobart, and have a few upgraded options. What I didn't realize was that Miller was also offering a $200 rebate on top of the free spoolgun, which made it a fantastic value. I was able to get into the Miller for less than the Hobart, and have a spoolgun. After running the Miller for about 2 weeks now, I have these observations- 1)It is a quality machine, has similarities to the Hobart (Hobart and MIller are owned by the same parent company), and I am confident in both the Hobart that I sold and the Miller that I now own. 2) The few upgrades of the Miller make it a slightly more refined machine, and I expect long service out of it. 3) At comparable settings, the Miller welds hotter and penetrates deeper than the Hobart. While both are the same amperage machine, my impression is that the Miller will penetrate more thoroughly on max settings than the Hobart, making it slightly more machine. While it is heavy with a spool of wire installed, it is still portable. You won't climb a ladder and balance it on your knee while welding ductwork, but you can move it around, put it in the back of a truck, etc. It is max power while still having portability. Overall, I am extremely impressed with the Miller. The Hobart 210 had served me well, and was a value compared to the normal price of the Miller. But, with the free spoolgun and rebate, the Miller is more welder for less money, which is what we are all looking for. I have made two purchases from Cyberweld, now- the welder, and consumables. Both purchases were easy, shipping was quick, and there were no hitches. I will buy again from Cyberweld.
Pros
  • Great value
  • Good penetration
  • easy to set up and use
  • quality components
  • easy to dial in the settings
Cons
  • It would be nice if Miller would include both a male and female adapter for the regulator. I had a hard time finding a female fitting to attach to my old tank.

Great welder for thr price
July 3, 2015
This welder is great for many applications with the MVP. It makes it easy to take it to a small job using 110 volt or at the shop doing bigger things with 220 volt. Just twist off the end and put the one you need in place. Plug in and go. The auto set works well too. For the beginner to a pro this welder is awesome. I had other welders this one is by far the BEST out there. Cost a little more BUT as always you get what you pay for. WILL BUY ONLY MILLER FROM NOW ON.....
Pros
  • Small portable. Great features. Very easy setup out of the box. Easy to use . Fast shipping. Can't beat it....
Cons
  • I should have bought this Miller a long time ago.

Was on the fence before purchase but 99.9% happy with my decision
June 4, 2015
I've been making my living fabricating in various fields for the last 30 years. From High end Street Rods to Automation and Robotics so I've experienced most every type of welding and fabricating with various manufacturers. I've always liked Miller equipment for some reason, Not that Lincoln or other quality brands are bad but always had good luck with Millers quality. That being said, Purchasing this welder over comparable brands and machines was a difficult decision. I needed the highest capacity small footprint welder I could get for under $1500 and refused to buy used. I was torn between the newest Miller 190 and this 211. I test welded the 190 and was very impressed with its performance but opted for the advertised additional capacity of the 211. It performs flawlessly on everything from 16ga on up to the 3/8 mild steel so far. Smooth starts and butter smooth welding. I thought the auto set feature was just a gimmick until I started using it and found it to be almost spot on! Would be amazing for a beginning welder. Cannot say just how pleased I am with this purchase. Thank you Miller and Cyberweld for Top notch sales and service. I'm a customer for life!
Pros
  • Autoset feature is helpful, Easily swap from 110-220 volt, Smallish unit but highest capacity in size range, Extremely robust design and drive roller system, With Rebates and extras it was an absolutely unbeatable deal!
  • Cannot wait until they offer an Inverter welder like the Miller 190 in a slightly higher capacity
Cons
  • Fan constantly running can be annoying when the shop is quiet.
  • Would have been nice if they included the smart fan technology on this machine like others.

Excellent machine! So glad I spent a little more on a much better unit.
June 3, 2015
Perfect welder for my needs. I bought mainly because it could weld aluminum stainless and carbon, flux and mig. Another big selling point is the multi volt plug allowing a simple no tool change from 240 to 120. Takes 2 or 10 lb spools. Comes with argon/co2 regulator and hose. Welds bread on mig or flux. $200 rebate and rebate for $280 spool gun from miller really sweetened the deal.
Pros
  • Much more versatile than most mig weld eras
  • Multi volt
  • Regulator wire and spare tips for turnkey welder.
  • Get some flux core wire if you don't have a gas bottle
Cons
  • Little heave

Pros
  • Miller 211 good size machine for all it can do in a little package
Cons
  • I wish miller could make a smaller adapter plug or maybe an angled one for the mvp machines the hang out of the wall plug to far Im always watching so I dont break it.

THE BEST WELDER EVER MADE
May 9, 2015
I have owned 3 mig welders at my body shop. The welder I replaced was a Snap-On. The Miller 211 is the best I have ever used and I like the smaller size they make now. This will weld everything from sheetmetal to 3/8". Was shipped fast...3 days. I love the 110/220 feature. Same welder operates on either voltage. If you want the best at a great price BUY THIS WELDER!
Pros
  • Lightweight but gets the job done
  • 110/220 volts...same machine
  • Great price from Cyberweld plus a rebate
  • Fast shipping
Cons
  • None

Pros
  • Auto set feature

Miller 211 MVP review
April 29, 2015
At first glance the welder is much bigger than my older 90amp gasless welder. The Welder is also very heavy as it probably should be. It's build quality is definitely there judging by it's weight, the thickness and ultra flexibility of the wires it uses on the gun and clamp, as well as the internal drive gear system. The controls on the welder are also very limitless and you can dial in the knobs to any level of amps and voltage. I can definitely hear the difference as well when putting down weld, it has a very smooth and crisp sound like air going through a pipe mixed with the typical sparking crackling sound. The metal penetration is also excellent. There is just something about this machine when you are welding, you just feel the quality in the control and action of the gun. I was going to go for the Hobart, but with the Build it Blue rebate this Miller would have been the same price. So I definitely went with the well known Miller.
Pros
  • The Welder has a lot of power
  • Smooth and Crisp when welding a bead
  • Quality parts and built
  • Superb metal penetration
Cons
  • Very Heavy (Its hard to pick up and transport without a cart despite the nice handle it comes with)
  • Auto-set option can run a little hot sometimes if using flux core and 0.035 wire

Works great
April 25, 2015
My first MIG was a "bargain" brand and I wasn't getting very good results. I thought it was my lack of experience. I finally decided to move up to a premium brand and since I've had a Miller stick welder for over 15 years, I went with the Millermatic 211 w/ Auto-set. The unit arrived within a few days and was very easy to set up. Since I don't do a lot of welding, I decided to buy a 90 cu ft gas bottle and avoid the lease payments on the larger bottles. I know my cost per cu ft of gas will be higher on refills, but should balance out with no lease payments. Found some scrap .125 2" square tubing, set the dials on the welder's Auto-set and the first pass gave me that satisfying "buzz". No sputtering, no tips sticking to the work, just a nice bead with proper penetration. I've got some 16 GA square tubing that I'll work with next. I don't expect any problems. I should of heeded my grandfathers advice, "It's the poor man that pays the high price." Good solid equipment is worth the money!
Pros
  • For the beginner, the Auto-set feature gets you going without a lot of trial and error.

I did a lot of research prior to making this purchase and am extremely satisfied with the Miller 211. I had only used a 110v flux wire welding machine prior to this one and the 240v with gas makes a huge difference. I have not tried the 211 with 110v input yet

Bought it to replace old Hobart 175, opened it hooked up gas, put in a 10# roll of .030 turned it on auto set, welds perfectly right out of the box. Zero guess work. With the spool gun this welder was the most affordable way to go for aluminum mig. Clean welding from here on out, love it. extremely happy with it so far, does everything I expected it to do. Also this is my 4th purchase from cyberweld and I wont buy anywhere else cheapest place to shop on the web.

December 30, 2014
for 20 years I have been welding with a 120 volt Miller mig welder . I've built a lot of stuff with it over these years and its still looks and runs like it did new. I'm getting ready to build a hotrod and I needed a 220 volt welder that would really penetrate, so I bought the Miller 211. not only is it the same size as my old welder and fits on the old car,t but it runs on either 220, or 110. It's just a matter of switching the plug. It welds like a dream on 220 and the auto set feature works well. It looks well built and I'm looking forward to years of service out of it.
Pros
  • I've read reviews about how the ground clamp looked cheap and the gun felt stiff. I did not find this to be the case. In fact It looks and feels pretty much like the old welder and that has never failed me.
Cons
  • hadn't really found any thing wrong with it
