Great machine!

I am a journeyman ironworker and have used this machine at work many times. At 240 volts it welds 1/8 7018 smoother than our diesel Lincoln welders.

Great little machine
July 9, 2019
Runs a bit hotter that other machines but for the money you cant beat it. I will be adding more to the line up as my maxstars die off.
Cons
  • Kinda bigger than the other 161 welders.

It's a bad little welder, haha!
July 3, 2019
This welder really is a great little welder. It welds as well as anything in it's class I've ever used. Uses 6010 and 7018 with ease, even on 120V. As for Cyberweld, they were great, expedient, and you can't beat their prices.
Pros
  • All the pros.
Cons
  • Wish the power chord was removable from the unit to make it a fuzz more portable, but it's not a big deal, really.

I've put a dozen or so 7018 and 6010 through it. I like what I see so far. I think I did my homework and it paid off.

Amazing Deal!
May 2, 2019
Cyberweld had the best price out of anyone else with this machine so I went with them. Unfortunately they shipped it via FedEx. The first machine was damaged when FedEx wrecked the truck and the second they took joy riding around the country for an additional week. Other than the shipping company not getting the machine here in a decent time, Cyberweld and this machine are great! Customer service is great and fast too!
Pros
  • Price
  • Customer Service
  • Product availability
Cons
  • FedEx wrecking a truck and delaying my package twice.

Good stick welder.
April 19, 2019
Novice welder this runs 6011 well. I haven't pushed it at high amp settings yet. Running 220 v with adequate wire size from breaker. No over temp issues. Not doing anything weird. First preference is to buy us made tools or from us companies not China. This is made in China. Not sure who owns company

No matching sockets for 230v cord
January 9, 2019
I was excited to get my machine but that excitement was short lived when I couldn't burn a 7018 1/8 rod on the highest setting. Then my excitement was even more drained when I tried to hook the 230v to two different generators and the plug wouldn't fit in either one. So I checked the two 230v in the house. And it still wouldn't fit either of them. Now I'm sitting here trying to figure out how to find a adapter that will fit so I can run 7018 1/8 rods.
Pros
  • There aren't any right now. But if I can ever get a chance to run the 230v I hope to change this review
Cons
  • NO plugs to match the cord that comes with the machine. Even with amp turned all the way up on 120v still can?t run 7018 1/8 rods, just sticks.

  • - better ground
  • - handle instead of strap

Cant go wrong with ESAB Miniarc
September 27, 2018
The ESAB Mini arc is one well put together machine. Have welded so far 6011 and 7018 on 110v. Very easy to start and maintain arc. Cables seem to be above average for inverter machines. Looked at Miller and Lincoln equivalents but this is much more bang for the buck. Cyberweld was very prompt on Shipping. Arrived in very good shape. Only glitch was did not have the welding electrodes included in the picture on their website. Guess I will call them at some point but overall I am a happy customer.
Pros
  • 110v or 220v
  • Quality construction
  • Above average electrode holder and clamp
Cons
  • none so far

Good Welder
April 13, 2018
I have not gotten to use this welder much yet, but I have welded a little with it on 110 and 220v and it seems to weld quite well for the size it is and the price I paid for it. It doesn't weld quite as good as the comparable Miller welders, but it cost about 1/3, so that can be expected. Overall no complaints thus far.
Pros
  • Small, Affordable, Lightweight, Good Arcs.
Cons
  • Tig Assembly separate. Not crazy about the two adapters for the power cord. I would rather see a standard 110 power cord with an adapter to plug into the 220 outlet or vice versa.

ESAB Mniarc 161 LTS
February 10, 2018
Have found Cyberweld to be great to deal with - in both price and service! Their response to my questions about different welders they offer was prompt and helpful to making my purchase decision. I posed one question to a major equipment manufacturer and NEVER received a reply. Everything with CyberWeld, product and service, has been as advertised. CyberWeld will be my go-to resource for future welding products.
Pros
  • Light weight, smooth arc. Runs great on 120v or 240v. Love the versatility.
Cons
  • Stiffness of input power cord.

Great Welder
February 8, 2018
Purchased this welder for doing repairs on my utility trailer and lawn equipment. Great machine, had no issues striking an arc and maintaining good steady current. I've only burned through about 25 electrodes and so far it has performed very well.
Pros
  • Operates on 110 or 230 vac and very affordable.
Cons
  • Power cord insulation is not made from rubber and can be very stiff in cold weather.

It is just as advertised. The machine is light weight, welds so easily, far exceeds expectations we had. My husband a career welder really likes the machine.

Wha?!?!?
January 1, 2018
Didn't know a little box could pack such a punch! Hot start is legit. Burns 6010 and 7018 1/8; That was most surprising to me. Blows the blue box out of the water. Just my opinion.

Punches above it's weight!
December 11, 2017
Nice little 18 ld unit, tried it out with 1/8" 6010 & 7018 electrodes and they produced good welds. Easy arc starting, has a fairly quiet cool down fan. Comes with a 10' heavy duty power cord terminated with a NEMA L6-20 Twist Lock plug and 2 adapter cords to fit a 50A straight blade 240v outlet and a standard 120v outlet. I haven't tried it on 120V yet, on 240v it trucks along just fine with the output knob set just below '120', I thought I'd try the 6010 on the rustiest junk plate dug up from my back yard, blasted through the rust w/no problem and nice penetration (photo). Buy It!
Pros
  • Half the weight and a quarter the cost of a Miller CST-280
Cons
  • The only minor beef is that the power cord is thermoplastic instead of rubber, in cold weather the mains cable gets a bit stiff.

Best value
December 2, 2017
I bought this unit after a lot of research comparing other similar options and decided that this was the best value for me. This is the best quality welder I've owned so far and I find that it will meet my needs well. I can only compare this unit to a Lincoln mig and Harbor Freight small inverter stick/tig welder that I've owned in the past. The Lincoln mig was my first welder and I got rid of it because I wanted more control mid weld. I sold it off and bought the HF to train myself how to scratch start tig. The HF unit actually worked pretty well and I was impressed with the results for the amount I had invested in the setup. However, the torch and ground clamp were garbage on the unit, I was limited to 130A output 220V input and I was ready to move up to lift arc and get away from scratch start. I probably only burned about a dozen 6011 rods with the HF inverter unit. It got the job done, but didn't impress me. I bought the ESAB stick package for a job I have coming up where stick welding will be better suited than tig and plan to add the tig accessories at a later date. So far I've only ran the machine with 120v burning 3/32 6011 rods. I've burned about a dozen rods and find that the machine runs very smooth. I can get the job done with good penetration, they aren't as pretty as I'd like, but I believe I'll get there with more practice. I feel a lot more confident in my stick welding skills with this machine than any other I've tried in the past. I'm looking forward to setting up thee machine for tig and seeing what it can do.
Pros
  • Price, dual voltage, quality, smooth output
Cons
  • Power cord good quality but too stiff (I'll end up replacing entire cord. Plugs for electrode and ground clamp on front of machine are annoying (easily removed). I'd prefer a handle instead of shoulder strap (shortened shoulder strap into handle).

Awesome
October 28, 2017
This tiny little welder is an awesome machine. It runs 7018 like a dream and I gave 6010s a shot and wow blew me away. I ran it on 120 volts as well just to see how it would do and let me tell you it blew away those blue machines that run on 120. Looks like i will be going yellow from here on out instead of blue or red. I give it a 10 star rating. 20 years of welding never had a tiny welder like this blow me away. Excellent product at an excellent price.
Pros
  • Runs great on both voltages. Lightweight portable machine. Excellent value. Burns 6010 like a big boy. I ran it on 230v on a set of 1inch test plates never got too hot and never hit my duty cycle limit
Cons
  • Stinger is a little cheap but thats a cheap fix and thats not really a bad thing I'm just picky about my stingers

Cool portable welder
September 6, 2017
This welder stick welds a fine bead. Use small rod and you can weld whatever is needed while out in the middle of nowhere. It's weight and size are so nice. I have 110 ac power in my off road truck, and this allows me to not carry a generator to weld.

Excellent welder
August 17, 2017
Works with 6010 and 6011, is works so good that it is boring, other welders have their nuances, tricks, sounds, this one just works, it will pop a 20 amp breaker about a 110 amps, on. 220 it works flawlessly,
Pros
  • It works with 6010
Cons
  • Mmmmm, none, works as intended

GREAT LITTLE MACHINE
March 31, 2017
If you tired of carrying around a big machine, this is the one for you. Have used it several times, paid for itself on the first job!. Runs 6010 five p plus no problem and very smooth on 7018. Has cooling fan. Lengthened cables to fifty stick and ground, made adapters from supplied cables. Also ran some 109 l stainless, very good. It's a great time saver and so much easier than running my gas drive. I would say you can't go wrong for the price, hot start works well too. Ran machine on 110 and 230, no problems.
Pros
  • I would recommend this machine to hobbyist as well as pros. Real time saver.
Cons
  • None so far.
