Works great

Very easy to weld with this machine. Did some test beads with the auto settings and then switched to manual setup and did the calcs for wire feed rate and voltage. After tweaking it in I can't say the manual setup was any better than the auto mode. Also tried several different thicknesses and it worked great.

Bought this mainly to do auto body work. the auto set for thinner steel was burning holes with the 24 size liner installed. seems ton work better in manual mode with voltage turn down. still need more seat time. Keith

Perfect MIG welder for me !
May 29, 2019
I had a Lincoln 350MP, a really great and versatile machine, but it was just too much welder for me. It weighed almost 300 pounds, but it was really powerful. Anyway, I never used it to its full potential, so I sold that and bought the ESAB EM 215ic (mig only). I don't need it to TIG or Stick because I have a Miller Dynasty 200 for that. So this ESAB fits perfectly into my set up. It welds really nice, is plenty powerful for what I need it for, and only weighs 40 LBS. Also, I ordered the plug 'N' play spool gun, so now I can MIG Aluminum or SS if I need to. This 215ic EM has the smart MIG function, although I like to dial it in manually because that's what I'm used to doing. Really happy with it, affordable price, and it suits my needs perfectly. And another thing, it plugs into 240 or 110 volts (smart inverter technology) Outstanding machine, I would recommend it to anyone who needs a medium to light duty MIG machine. I'm very happy with my purchase!
Pros
  • I've had it for a few months. So far I like everything about it.
  • No complaints
  • Quality workmanship within the cabinet and cables.
  • Works the same way every time.
  • So easy to set up.
  • Plugs in to 240 Volt or 110 Volts.
Cons
  • None

Excellent welder
August 29, 2018
Great welder. The only thing I have is when I opened the box, the front lower handle was not installed properly and was creating a gap in the side panel where the wire spool goes. My neighbor and I got it properly assembled after a few minutes and all is well.

Portable powerhouse

I'm a garage tinkerer and needed something with more power than my 20 year old flux core 110 welder. At my work we have Miller machines that cost more than my car, so although I appreciate the value in a Top of the line Miller, I'm hesitant to blow my entire garage workshop budget on one machine. I "settled" on this Esab because of the price and the long warranty. When I first opened the box, I noticed the front handle had been put on incorrectly and was badly warped, so I went in thinking it was going to be junk, But went ahead and gave it a try anyway. Overall, it's worth every bit of it's asking price just for the ability To use the auto feature and let the machine figure out the settings. Nice clean welds, tons of power even on 110 volts, with the ability to crank it up on 220 and get that battleship hull project finished up. The quality of the welds make me look like I know what I'm doing and it seems to be working fine after about 8 lbs of wire through it. The warped handle has pretty much relaxed back into shape and I feel that I got my Money's worth. Thanks for reading.
Pros
  • Price
  • Versatility
  • Power
  • Ease of use
  • Compact
Cons
  • The poorly installed Handle makes you question the build quality.

Welded nice, but didnt make it through its first spool of wire
June 1, 2018
The esab 215ic makes damn nice welds and feeds well. But i didnt get but half way through its first spool of wire before the machine quit working. So if you enjoy things that need to be brought in to get warranty work done often then it is the welder for you. Wishing i would have went with the miller.

I have used many welders, most industrial machines, miller, lincoln, esab, ahp, etc. For the money you can't beat it. It will weld thin guage metal to thick, weld quality, appearance is awesome. I haven't tried it on 220 yet, but on 110 I was blown away. Welded 1/4" tee joint both sides, cut and polished and penetration was almost all the way through. The smig settings are a no brainer. You won't be sorry
Pros
  • Ease of use. Works great on 110. Can't wait to try on 220.
Cons
  • Havent seen any yet. After using 3 phase welders for 25+ years and going home to a 27 year old 110 transformer machine that i paid $100 less. I'm so excited to have a mig the is capable of high quality welds that is comparable to industrial machines. Duty cycle may be an issue, but i haven't experienced this. If your on the bubble for a portable mig, this an easy, powerful unit.

Love the welder. This is my 2nd purchase from Cyberweld, both purchases were easy and shipping was fast. The only disappointment I had is my purchase was a few days early, so now I don't qualify for the "Burn and Earn" rebate.

Esab Mig Welder
September 18, 2017
Purchased to upgrade my 25 year old mig welder. I used the Esab mig to repair the back window channel of my 71 Monte Carlo. It worked well but burned through several times. Suggest getting the .024 liner and using .024 wire on body panels and thin sheet metal. Also welded some 1/8 inch angle. Was excellent. Way better than my old Hobart. Overall I'm very happy with this mig.

Nice Mig Machine
July 30, 2017
This mig welder is beefy and I thought that I made a mistake because I wanted to use it for some sheet metal work. The torch is very heavy duty and the machine was very well built. It welded sheet metal just fine, It worked very well on butt welds and had no issues with blow through. Just set the metal thickness and start welding. Very little adjustments were needed to get good penetration. This is my new favorite welder.
Pros
  • Light
  • well built
  • reasonably priced
Cons
  • Wish they had an AC version for tig. Hate to weld aluminum with DC.
